Traditional arts, rooted in the civil society, are the wisdom of our predecessors’ life knowledge and the significant cultural heritage of our country. To ensure their transmission to future generations, NCFTA implements its current administration with an emphasis on cultivating contemporary talents of traditional arts. By offering sound and substantial supports and sustaining an active foundation, the works of research, presentation exchange, promotion and talents training for traditional theaters, music and dances will be pushed forward. In addition, the resources of its four subordinate units will be integrated to make traditional theaters and music convert into Taiwan’s distinctive and superior cultural index within the circle of the Chinese community worldwide. To exhibit the essence of Taiwan’s traditional arts, NCFTA also proposes a trans boundary and value-added project on a public construction, entitled “Congregate Diverse Art Forms and Bring Tradition Into Your Hearts (2015 ~ 2020)”. A model of “Three in One, One Spiltto Three” is put into practice to network Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center, Yilan Park and Kaohsiung Park for building up a strategic ground for talents training and presentation exchange of traditionalarts nationally and internationally. The goals of “Creative Culture Makes Value”and “Culture Produces Worth” will be achieved, enabling cultural capitals transformed into cultural assets and pushing Taiwan’s traditional performing arts presented on international stages. To complete these objectives, the administrative policies are listed bellows:

 

1. Make TaiwanTraditional Theatre and Music Center the topperforming arena for all Chinese population globally:

a) TaiwanTraditional Theatre Center will be developed into the theatrical heart of the Chinese Community worldwide. Based on the branding concept of “Traditional Theaters Made in Taiwan”, NCFTA will offer a supportive platform for the industry of performing arts to implement the strategies of “theater production”, “test marketing” and “copyright trading”.Safeguarding tradition can and making innovation can be achieved spontaneously,which will create an increasing value on culture conservation. 

 

b) A marketplace for the copyright of Taiwan-made theater productions will be constructed to exercise the notion of “production – quality – brand”.Through the launch of branding to expand side products and the linkage with the industry of creative culture, the beneficial results of the intellectual property will continuously grow.

 

2. Make Yilan Park the best creativelocation for exploring Taiwan’s distinctively cultural characters:

a) Both of the hard and soft resources in the Yilan field will be applied into the enhancement of the capabilities of basic manpower and the atrical expertise. In co-operation with performing masters, professional teams, private sectors, local performing groups and schools, those potential juniors will therefore gain be neficial supports and more staging opportunities.


b) The digital collection willbe made a good use. By adopting multi-media techniques and value-addedapplication of creative culture, exhibitions with specific themes can beorganized. In addition, mobile and duplicate exhibitions in the road show model will allow more audiences to experience Taiwan’s cultural heritages in person.


c) The historical architectures inthe field can transform into display sites for running crafts manship study programs. The trainees will be guided to follow business careers and the working opport unities for the disable will be reserved as well.  

 

d) All NCFTA’s properties and resources of traditional arts will be systemized. A managing, evaluating and authorizing classification will be set up through the intellectual property inventory,which will develop into a think tank for traditional arts and a communicationhub for the intellectual property and information.   

 

3.Make Kaohsiung Park as the base to increase art productions and viewing population in the southern Taiwan:

a) The present location of Taiwan Bangzi Opera Company in Kaohsiung and Chungshan Hall in Zuoying will belinked to form the Kaohsiung Park, a stand for related art creations,cross theatrical experiments and the cultivation of viewing population.
 

b) The activities of theatrical experience workshops, arts education, exclusive presentations, theater carnivals and seminars will be organized to execute the promotional schemes on theatrical education and teaching in student clubs and to grant appropriate supports to private troupes. Kaohsiung Park will therefore grow into the principal terrain for training talents of traditional theaters in thesouthern Taiwan region.

 

4. Integrate the nation’sperforming arts properties and resources:

a) Traditional theaters and Chinese music will be given dedication to create varied forms. On the basis of Taiwan’s conventional aesthetics, the integration of different cultural elementsin crossed-art presentations and international cooperation will help to stressthe leading strength of Chinese theaters.

 

b) Through international communication and cross-strait exchange, national performing groups will be the pioneers to heighten the visibility of Taiwan’s culture on the international stages.
